Americans do batteries, paper

Scientists from Stanford University have created a battery, consisting of paper and special ink. Research article appeared in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and its summary is given in the press release of the University.

In the study researchers developed a special ink containing carbon nanotubes and silver nanoshtyri. Layer of paint to make the appropriate surface of the battery or capacitor.

Scientists tested several types of surfaces (eg plastic), but the most reliable basis for ultra cells was normal paper. It turned out that the fibrous structure of this material allows the nanotubes and nanoshtyryam perfectly fastened on its surface.

Researchers emphasize that received their batteries are extremely reliable. Thus, deformation, fluctuations of humidity, temperature and even room in the battery acid solution did not provide any suschestvennoh at impacts on their work. Scientists hope that their new development of suit, including the creation of electric vehicles.

More recently, scientists from Sweden managed to create a battery of paper-based and salt. Their version, however, is not as flexible and undemanding to the surrounding environment. Moreover similar development has recently been made in the European union institutions Fraunhofer-gesellschaft. They offered to print batteries on plastic technology, which resembles technology print images on T-shirts.
