Google offered to newspapers group news stories
Google, The New York Times and The Washington Post presented a joint project of Living Stories, in which will be tested a new way to feed news content. This was reported in an official blog Google.
The developers have chosen some of the most important, in their view of events, each of which created a separate story that is updated in real time as writing new material. In addition to the articles themselves subjects include introductory text that gives an overview of the topic, the interim scale, showing the chronological order of events, and the filter through which you can select specific categories of materials (articles, columns, Quote, etc.).
The program remembers which of the articles contained in the plot had already been viewed, and when someone comes to him again, highlights the new materials. Subjects offered at a subscription as email or as an RSS-rassylky. This blog highlights melting that until the pilot project because the developers ask users send them your comments and suggestions.
As explained by publication Silicon Alley Insider Living Stories manager Josh Cohen (Josh Cohen), if the project is successful, then all subjects relocate the page relevant to the issues. List of partners is not limited to the above-mentioned two newspapers. In addition, Cohen assured that the project is on a partnership and does not provide financial transactions.
On the launch of a new project was announced at the recent threats against the owner of News Corp. Rupert Murdoch to remove the publication, which belong to him, a news aggregator with Google, which criticized the tycoon for free content distribution.
