Climatologists have determined that global warming is to get to the last bastion of the ice - such scientists called East Antarctic ice sheet, which was considered until recently affected by climate change. Research article appeared in the journal Nature Geoscience, and its brief cites New Scientist.
The new study researchers used data collected by a pair of spacecraft NASA GRACE. These devices were launched from the cosmodrome Plesetsk in 2002, devoted to studying the dynamics of the terrestrial gravitational field.
Downloaded, they said "most detailed available data on the change of the gravitational field in recent years, the computer model, scientists were that East Antarctic ice sheet is currently intensively melts. By their calculations, from 2002 to 2009 range annually lose 5 to 109 billion tons of ice (error calculations extremely large).

Physics managed to take another step on the road to create a new generation of electronic devices, called spintronykoy. It is planned that similar devices koduvatymetsya not only electrical signals, but the electron spin, their constituents. Research article appeared in the journal Nature, and its brief cites SCIENCENOW.
In the study scientists were able to create a flow of electrons from a polarized spin in silicon at room temperature. This plate for semiconductor causing a thin layer of aluminum oxide, after which the top was napylenyy nickel electrode.

Biologists have found that blue whales around the world were singing below, reports Wired. At this height the sounds issued from the 60-ies, is reduced almost linearly - the fate of a few Hertz in the year. Article scientists published in the journal Endangered Species Research.
Discovery was made by scientists, writing call sign whales in the Atlantic Ocean with automatic microphone - with time, researchers noted that the device requires an annual calibration. Data analysis allowed to establish that this pattern throughout the world.
Scientists have cited the following figures. In the North Atlantic (to which is the fullest array of data) the frequency of songs whales declined over the period 1960-2009 year with 22 hertz to little more than 18 hertz. The largest absolute decline is observed in the northeastern Pacific Ocean - from 65 to 45 hertz.
Okeanolohy stress in different regions of the songs of blue whales vary in height and structure, but the reduction observed everywhere. Currently, scientists explain it can not, however, they have a few hypotheses.
