At Baikonur sent last three satellites GLONASS-M
The last three satellites GLONASS-M November 28, 2009 was sent to Zheleznohorska at Baikonur cosmodrome, Interfax reports. The previous two satellites were delivered to Baikonur on 17 and 23 November this year. We are trained to launch satellites, which is scheduled for Dec. 14.
In September, was supposed to be launching into orbit three satellites GLONASS-M, but the devices were returned to the factory-manufacturer for additional inspections of onboard equipment. The reason for return was a suspicion of possible defects in the equipment - still in the work of one of the satellites in orbit has failed.
Orbital GLONASS constellation consists of 16 satellites. Devices provide virtually complete coverage of Siberia and the Far East and European part of Russia provided a signal of 92-97 percent. Earlier it was planned that by the end of 2009 the number of GLONASS satellites in orbit will increase to 24, while repeatedly stressing that Mr. adezhnoy group it should include 30 vehicles.
